Well 21, today and mum wants to get me a half decent watch rather than giving me money which will just be drunk or spent on petrol

She wants to spend about 150, what should I be looking for.

Don't normally wear watches, but she wants to get me something I can keep.

Just had a look, look quite nice.

Assuming Seiko is a good brand then?

Dont know much about watches.

Expect I want a Omega, but a bit out my price range.

just a bit. go down to the jewelery store and have a look at what you like.
look at the £200 section cos when you search the internet you will find lots of bargains.
don't know if you can get one of the kinetics for that tho.

I recommend what I have, Vostok Europe K-3 Submarine:-

Alsal Watches in the strand has them

I paid about £135 for mine. Automatic watches, 31 jewel mechanism.

i'll dig out the link to the shop i went to.
£105 off a £450 sieko kinetic is what i got.
high street stores offered to cut 5% only.
imo the watch hut is still a bit pricey.

Out of interest why did you apologise?

Anyway, the recommendation for the Vostok is a good one. I had a Vostok Europe N1 and it was a great watch for the money. Other brands to look at are Seiko and Citizen. You can pick one from any of these manufacturers and you can't really go wrong. They're all great quality for the money.

Seiko Black or Orange monster.

In my opinion, it's by far the best watch you can get for that price. I recently got one brand new off Ebay (for a friend) for £102 including next day special delivery.

/sigh the people above me have no idea on watches ;)

You want a real watch

and tbh I dont think thats very impressive. why not use touch keys hmm? better off strapping an iphone to your wrist :p

So you call that a real watch and then say it isn't impressive? Does that come for £150 by any chance? I doubt it, so your post makes zero sense.

For the 'spec me' thread probably :)

You'll get the usual stuff about "but dkny don't actually make their own watches" which may be a valid point when spending thousands on a watch, but for the money your spending just find the one that you like the look of best. Personally I don't like any of the sub £200 watches made by Citizen/Seiko etc.

Didnt want to start a new one, but my Seiko just recently broke, so am looking at similar price range. Doesnt have to be overly fancy, but smart, bracelet is preferred. Ta. The Vostok's look nice.
