The whole point of that thread was to, essentially, tell you that you don't need one. It only recommends using ClamAV to scan files from questionable sources before sending them to Windows users as you could infect them.
In general the only times you may want to run a form of antivirus on Linux is (a) if the box is acting as a mail server where you may want to scan attachments or (b) if it is storing files for Windows clients to prevent infected files being passed around.
