How do you know you are not a fan if you've never driven an AWD car? You might like it?

like I said I cant really judge, I like rwd because i enjoy getting the back out, (having used my s14a for drifting) its got nothing to do with not liking it as such

drift days :), and maybe accidentally(!) a little on empty roads not that I would use this next car for drift days, not that stupid! I just enjoy rwd ever since I got my first s14 :P

I went from an Impreza WRX to an S2000 (albeit with a 3 series diesel in the middle for a bit) and yeah they are very different to drive and the Impeza did feel quicker, however it wasn't.

For me the S2000 has proved to be a great car, had mine a month or so now and it's doing everything brilliantly at the moment.

Yeah it would be nice to have more low down grunt, but not at the expense of those revs if that was the choice. Foot down in 2nd, up to 9k then into 3rd and carry on hasn't got boring yet :)

Also I've not found it wanting to kill me at every corner as everyone will have you believe (usually those who haven't actually driven one), also not found insurance for me to be terrible.

But they aren't for everyone and if you don't like it then you don't like it, nothing wrong with that as everyone's different!

So if you only drift on drift days, but wont use your new car for drift days, then I guess you wont be drifting and therefore should try an AWD car :)

I came from a 970 kg 300 bho Audi turbo car to a s2000

For years I took the p out of vtEch who wants to drive at 9 k etc etc but I tell you the car is so drivable for day to day, ok put your foot down at 3k rpm and its a but meh but 6k plus is fantastic and a thrill to drive if moving on, all you need to do is change down.

My car is slightly tuned which makes it sound and go even better, I am surprised to write about how much I love it coming from high power turbo cars, you can't beat roof down, 9000 revs revs with a real nice weight balanced handling car, vtEch sounds great with a induction kit too..

Good luck with whatever you buy

Try an s15, they drive very different and feel a lot tighter and faster due to better turbo, diff, chassis bracing etc. I have a stage 3a s14a and I still love it. If you use sxoc have a look at posts by madda, he has had various cars inc turbo mx5, supercharged s2000 etc as well as many s13/14 inc rb engined ones so may be able to assist

The S2000 is a very fast car. I guess you are only interested in straight line? As one would leave the 200sx on a proper road.

And if he's sold the 200sx as it needed work doing I don't think a 20+ year old car is what he's after I'd have guessed.

Anything quicker than an S2000 for £7k is going to be no spring chicken and also no stranger from needing massive work doing.

Perhaps the most prudent thing for the OP to do is realise that there is a limit to how much performance you can get for your money before you need to allow either more hassle, more money, or both.

Otherwise we'd all have 700bhp.
