Hi, you guys helped me build my last 2 computers because building them is much easier than speccing them. Anyway I have a Geforce GTX 970 running on a Z97X-SLI-CF motherboard.

I'm looking to update to the max graphics card the board can take which seems to be a 1080. Do I just buy any of them and they'll work? I can only see 2nd hand, what's the odds I pay nearly £200 and it doesn't work?

Any recommendations of where I could still get a new one or is that out of the question because of the age?

Thanks Spud.

Ok thanks, I'm sure I read the 1080 was the best it could take, anyway that's why I always come here for advice. The CPU is i5-4690 @3.50 GHz and the card I have I can just see under the inch of dust is a MSI 970 and it's worked perfectly all these years. I see there's a MSI 4060 on Amazon for £270 so that's seems much better value than the £200 second hand as mentioned.

I assume this will fit then?

Thanks, Spud.

Whats your budget? I'd personally not be buying a 4060 (try to avoid using the site UB you linked from)
I think £300 would be max. Looking at the 6750xt's now then. I assume the bottle neck won't be at the card more the CPU with one of those.
