My current system is a amd phenom x2 unlocked to x4 at 3.6 ghz 4 gb ddr2 and a 5850 card

I have just ordered a 120 hz monitor a 570gtx card question is should i just go and get sandy bridge ? For games will it be faster i play arma2 etc which is very cpu bound

Also i5. 2500 or i7 2600 ? Will the 4 extra threads help in games? Or is the 450 upgrade cost not going to prove a big performace leap?

Id say stick with what you have personally, its definitely not worth considering the i7, if all youre doing is gaming and you do decide to take the plunge stick to the i5 as the i7 offers nothing over it

For the cost of £450 you will get approx a 15% increase in performance - I'd hardly say its worth it

If you feel like your frame rates are a bit low, then spend around £250 on a new graphics card - this HD6950 can be flashed to a HD6970 - a very fast card!
