Does anyone know how to find this?

I need my branch sort code so I can transfer some money into my account.

My branch sort code is not on my statement. Branch is HSBC, Leigh, Lancashire.

Its on your bank card, starts with 4 numbers like 6759 then the sort code followed by the account number

Thats what it is on the Maestros, the Visas are different, but everythings on the card, cheque book and statements.

Thats odd, it should be, I'm looking at my current account statement and it clearly shows the sort code to the left of the Account number.

If its not there try ringing HSBC the contact number according to my statement is 08457 404404. If the sort code is missing off your account try to explain to them and see if they can rectify it. Whilst you are at it, ask them for the sort code as well.

One other thing if you have a card for the account - it should be on the card as well, its in the format (two numbers - two numbers - two numbers e.g 01-01-01)

Erm, ring the bank thats your best bet, its deffo on your card and bank statement though..

Its asking for my 'Bank Clearing Code'. I popped into Manchester HSBC and he said it was just my sort code and he'd never hear of the 'Bank Clearing Code' before.

I've got my IBAN and BIC number, just not what they call the 'Bank Clearing Code'. :(

I've not got a Maestro or similar with this account. My card is just a basic self service card, not a debit one.

Oh right, might not be on there then, they usually give them to under 16's to help protect there identity my sister has one, ring your bank mate thats your best option you probably wont find out either way..

Its shown like "40-XX-XX XXXXXXXX" (x should be a number) the first 6 digits are the sort code and the next 8 are the account number but usually itll show the sort code and the last 4 digits of the acc num like "XXXX0000"

Just ring the bank?

EDIT:

Clearing code? Never heard of that myself..

Ring the bank :)

Cheers all.

Bloody Betdaq. I don't think they like people to withdraw their winnings as they'll probably get the interest if it styas with them! :)
