Hey

I have a problem with my O/C

I have upped my FSB by 50mhz to start with, this is effectively giving me a FSB 1000, my RAM is OCZ PC6400 2x1GB.

MY BIOS is only giving me two speed settings for the ram:fsb ratio

auto
1:1

well using auto at 1000mhz the ram will not boot - unsurprisingly
1:1 is running slow!

Any ideas

My mobo is a Ocuk IP35-S
E2180 CPU
OCZ 2x1GB PC6400 RAM

Leave the memory on 1:1 til you've finished clocking the CPU.

You can also drop the multiplier to x9, which will give you a higher FSB, and thus faster memory. On x10 you would need the CPU to be running at 4ghz to run the memory at stock speeds on 1:1. On x9 that drops to 3.6ghz, and on x8 it drops again to 3.2ghz.

You should be able to clock the nuts off an E2180 by using the x9 multi (unless you're unlucky enough to have the 370/1500mhz FSB wall).

You may also find that you are offered more memory ratios once you hit a 1333mhz FSB.

well when I put my FSB to 280 with a multiplier of 10.

My PC will not even boot?

with the RAM at 1:1?

Set the CPU voltage to 0.05v above its VID (CoreTemp will give you its VID).

Also set the memory voltage to 2.0 or 2.1v.

Core Temp is reading the default voltage of your chip.

CPU-Z is reading the current voltage in Windows. It's normal for it to be lower than it is set to in BIOS.
