I've been playing about with Windows Media Player on Windows 7 because the way the libraries work is very handy, so i thought id start sorting out the tags on my Mp3's, although I've hit a snag when trying to classify genres.

I can drag and drop different genre's into another one, so if something is called 'rock' and the other 'post-rock' i can combine them no problem, or i can re-name a group of MP3s to create a whole new genre, which is very good.

The problem is, for instance i have found a group of files tagged as 'Unknown Genre' and there is 388 hours! so i would like to go through the albums within this genre and re-tag them to the specific ones, but i cant, there's no option - when right clicking individual tracks, only the option to add them to new or existing play-lists is there.

Surely MS haven't made it super handy and like child's play to categorise existing groups and to create new groups by renaming existing ones, but impossible to categorise individual mp3s and create new genres from scratch?

or am i missing something?
