SOS!!

I have a problem with the following system:

Intel D925XCV2
Intel 3.2Ghz Processor
1GB Samsung DDr2 RAM
Nvidia 6600 PCI-E
Hiper Type-R 580W PSU

The story, was loading up tom clancy rainbow 6: vegas, processor/system fans started whirring loudly and then it switched itself off.

I have taken it all apart, left in processor, memory, video card and cleared cmos. On hitting the on switch, PSU lights up - fan switches on, no processor fan and no BIOS on screen.

No visible melting on the mboard/processor. Any ideas what could have gone, more options to test?

Any wee Asus style LEDs on the board to tell you that it's getting power? Dunno if the ethernet port LEDs will light up before the machine boots.

Yeah green light on the motherboard.

Well after much thinking and tinkering, I still cant get the thing to POST. I have tried clearing the CMOS on the mboard and still the only thing that happens is the PSU fan turns on/lights come on the PSU and thats it. No processor fan spinning, no video card fan spinning.

The green LED on the mboard is still lighted up green!

Does this sound like processor/ram/mboard/PSU/video card (delete as appropriate) failure?

Sounds like it could be your PSU, have you got another one that you could try?

Yep, I'd do that. Sounds like it definitely could be another Hiper issue.
