Currently looking at the sennheiser pc 360's. They would be primarily used for gaming.

Also looking at a soundcard such as the asus zonar D2x or the essence stx, which from what I read benefits from a headphone amp.

Also with the view in a couple of month of getting a set of speakers connected to it along with the TV and other devices although thats for another time.

What would anyone personally recommend.

Cheers.

Personally, I'd go for the Essence. D2/X is a great card, but the Essence is certainly a step up. Especially worth getting if you are pairing with quality headphones or a good headset such as the PC360's.

Thanks for the reply, suppose I'll have to spend some money, atleast there will be free shipping if I order it tomorrow. Its good that you regard the headset being of a suitable grade to use infront of using the d2x.

Then I might be back for speaker advice for music + films in a couple months. Since I've seen some of your knowledge in other topics.

I'd definitely consider the DX as it is cheaper, and has front panel audio out.
I also read a review where the reviewer couldn't hear any difference between the DX and the D2, but I suppose it's all different for different people.

The DX does have the headphone amps too, but it doesn't look as cool :p

Sweet after messing around trying to install and getting an irritating please plug in STX pop up during driver/software installation it finally installed. I then failed to change from speakers to headphones in the software, but now bingo this sounds lovely.

I even got someone elses invoice as well as mine in the box so it seems OCUK really have been busy over the last few days. Oh well it'll get shredded.
