What's the usage and do you find anything lacking?
While it's hard to say if there would be actual hearable differences, that ES9118 hyped by Gigabyte is meant as integrated solution for phones.
And hence propably has limited output voltage range.
Gaming/movie watching again benefits from HRTF.
Main uses are casual gaming and music.
I am new to the world of amps and dac's, the dt 1990 sound good would just like them to sound better.
I have a budget of around £250.
DT1990 is quite capable for gaming with binaural sound, assuming your head shape is close to average.
Size of soundstage isn't that large, but positioning inside it is good and details have "in your face" clarity.
You can use this to test how directionality and distance feel works for your head shape:
First couple minutes is actually good quick test for gaming capabiltiy of headphones.
Creative has other models also with head shape customizable HRTF as alternative to average head shape based HRTF.
But those have lower level audio components and especially headphone output.
(though no reviews of ridiculously gaming looking SB GC7 and specs lack headphone out voltage)

I use a Sennheiser headset and external dac but people might prefer other solutions.
