I have recently wall mounted a new flat screen tv on the wall with all the cables routed in ducting behind the plasterboard for a clean install. We got a 46" sound bar (HW-F751) as part of the package and I would like to mount this under the tv and run the power lead via the same ducting behind the wall. The problem I have is that the power lead has a bulky ac/dc adapter right in the middle. Now I know that I can easily extend the wall plug/adaptor side as this is just a standard power cable that pulls out of the adapter (like first half of a laptop cable and old stereo cables). This will not work as I will still be left with the ac/dc adapter stuck on the wrong side of the duct. How do I go about splicing the dc side of the lead, will there be issues of electro magnetic interference (sorted by ferrite ring?) but what about loss of voltage due to an increase in length to the speaker? Current dc length of just over 1m will need to be extended to 2.5m.
