sound blaster live/vista

hey

my friend has installed windows vistax64 and has got all the drivers working xcept the sound card ones

he has an internal sound blaster 24bit live
when he tries to install the drivers they extract then when the installer starts he gets an error just saying it could not complete.

any1 any experience with vista plz help!!

well i have a soundblaster 4.1 card (pretty old) and the 2000/xp drivers work fine in vista. but rather than use the setup program, i extracted the files from the installer manually and pointed vista towards the folder they were stored in.

From what i can gather at the moment anyone with a Creative card can near enough forget using it with Vista 64 beta2 which is a bit of a pain, however Creative do say that they are going to be releasing a beta driver for Vista beta2 at some point so i guess we will all have to wait.

hmm my friends sister got vista working with sound and they have an audigy 2 card

does any 1 have it wrking with an x-fi? i have a platinum an i dont want to format an put vista on and have to update cs again (which takes a full day almost).
