PCI-E Soundcard by creative works.

Currently using PAX drivers but having no end of issues in windows 10.
Mic is interference looping static.
Settings not saving, always have to mute FP recording audio every boot.

Can someone link me to what they use in Windows 10.
Im not an audiophile i just want it to work and have all the control panels and utilities work.

Please help anyone.

Well it got moved here... i thought it would catch more in general hardware but he ho to the dead forum section we go !

Sound City is far from a dead forum

As for the card, Windows 10 is causing many problems with both Creative and Asus cards, specially the new Anniversary edition. If you took advantage of the Anniversary upgrade it may be that the latest Direct sound drivers are subtly different to those of the original Win 10 and it's just going to be a case of waiting for the card drivers to catch up.

It could also be a hardware problem beginning to manifest, the failure of settings to "stick" has been an early warning sign of failure for a couple of my previous cards.

OK thanks.
If the card dies I'll bury it at sea with glee.
I have a z170 motherboard. Maybe I'll look at that although it's only a realtek

The sound quality on the Z170 motherboards is generally very good, you may not hear much, if any, loss of sound quality.

As rids has already said, W10 is causing plenty of sound card problems. Unless you really need a feature you can only get with a sound card, if you're using stereo, I'd get a DAC if you find the onboard audio not quite good enough.

For microphone use, onboard has always been fine for me when I've used it.

This crap is driving me nuts I ditched the creative card for the onboard, downloaded the latest drivers from asus, now it's stuck in a installation loop where it reboots uninstalling it's self then looping, never finishing it's so called 2 step process

This is driving me nuts I'm so fed up with PCs right now.
