Good afternoon,

I recently purchased a G6 to go with a pair of DT 990 that should be with me in a few days and in the meantime I'm using a Arctis 7 headset.

I'm a little lost when it comes to the right settings to use and could really use some advice. Their intended purpose will be immersive gaming. RPGs and FPS titles like Dishonored, Bioshock and Cyberpunk. I was wondering how you have yours setup? SBX? Direct Mode? Audio Quality?

Thanks

Obviously select headphones as output.... Otherwise headphone out stays silent.
Then select 7.1 channel configuration.
That tells Windows audio stack (and game) max number of possible channels to use with sound card.
In processing settings Surround is what controls/enables HRTF, without which there's only dumb downmixing to stereo without calculation of binaural cues.
(also enables crossfeed/processing for stereo sources like music)
Some medium value is likely the best.

With these done speaker configuration setting in Windows sound playback settings should be automatically set to 7.1 channels, but better check that.
That makes sure games know to output 7.1 surround sound.

If you want to listen stereo sound directly without crossfeed etc just disable Surround setting.
That works also for recordings with already binaural sound:

(which would only get messed by any processing)

Depending on frequency response (or lack of it) in previous headphones you might also want to visit equalizer and drop 8kHz band some amount to control "Beyer's treble".
