Sound Card ~ Any suggestions

alright all,

what would be a good sound card for gaming etc, plz post away (i was lookin in the range of the creative ones bt cant pick one)

X-Fi XtremeMusic, or if that's too pricey the Audigy 4 7.1 OEM. Both really good gaming cards. If you fancy something even cheaper a used Audigy 2 ZS off ebay.

Obviously X-Fi Xtreme Music, constantly coming down in price and the fetures are actually quite useful.

Ive just had one.

I did have a fatal1ty but i sold it a couple of weeks back and went to an audigy2 ZS. But i missed my X-fi so much i had to get another. Got the headset with it as the bundle also

As i posted in another thread, If you look around on the net you can get the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music for £55.95 (£ 65.74 inc VAT) from a UK retailer and in stock too.

I don't think it makes a huge difference tbh, it's just marketing. As far as i'm aware there are'nt many games that make use of the extra ram on the card. If you need the extra front ports etc.. then i'd go for a x-fi platinum, that's what i have and i'm very happy with it. I paid £99 for mine at a big pc retailer just after x-mas time iirc, dunno if they still have them for that price now.
