Anyone got an idea what card i should go for. I think its got to have a in put jack for my lead off the guitar.

Have 5.1 Creative sound card in but no extra soc.

was looking at something like SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY 2 ZS PLATINUM PRO ?but realy have no idea, as i dont know how to play the begger yet lol..

Thx.

Unless you're planning to mic up your amplifier it would probably be best to grab a USB device like the Line6 GuitarPort, TonePort or similar.

Unless you have amp-modeling software on your computer, you will need this in the hardware and it will be easier for you to get it all in one unit, rather than to buy the software and a mic pre-amp.

Have a look at reviews of various USB guitar interfaces and decide from there.

I expect your current card has a line-in? They usually do and that's all that's needed. You right you can't plug it straight in though as its instrument level, not line. An acceptable way to do it is by putting the guitar into an amp and connecing the amp headphone output to line in. You could also use a multi-fx board :)

EDIT: Yes, if you spend a bit more Codmates suggestion is a much better way of doing it.
