sound card/hardware problems

hello all

well ive got a very big problem with my x-fi extremeMusic sound card what arrived today ive tryed to install it on my new rig and its telling me it cant detect it so after reading loads of threads of people with the same problem i still cant get it to work, so i tryed it in my old HP rig and its working perfectly so now im very confused

new rig:
abit ip35 mobo
q6600
4GB ram
OcZ 600w PSU

i can only guess its something to do with the motherboard but i need it to be explained step by step on what to do even if it means me having to fully restore my computer

and also pretty annoyed with overclockers because im 100% sure theyve sent me a second hand one we it only being in a small yellow envolope with no protection at all or instructions/box and the metal plate was badly bent,but thought i might has well still keep it as i aint got time to mess about

I can't help with your problem, but you bought an OEM card, so it wasn't supposed to come with a box, instructions etc. It wasn't supposed to come damaged though either

alright m8 thanks for reply even tho its n o help

but doesn't OEM stand for "original equipment manufacturer" sO shouldN'T it come in the original box as its from creative instead of a normal postage envolope with nothing at all to protect it? "examplle : the front plate was bent as owt" and the sticker what was ment to be stuck on the machine was already stuck on the sound card , so other word the person who had it befor already stuck it on the sound card and the sticker stating warrity is abour 1/5 ripped off

if some1 can help me we just getting it started we out sending it back would be great because i dont work around my town i work around britain so not always home to mess about we deliverys
