Hey,

Got an adding pair of sennheisers (unsure of model, probably 8 years old at least!) that appear to have developed an awful crackle in my ear from a loose cable and also apparently transmit awful static over the mic.

Quick upgrade in order I think :D

Currently using onboard sound so considering a sound card too. What I need is suggestions for both totaling no more than £100 - preferably PCI-E for the sound card as a big upgrade is due and I'll want to take it with me.

Mainly play games and watch videos either downloaded or via Netflix if that helps much?

Thanks :D

I can recommend the Asus Xonar DGX sound card (PCIe, the Xonar DG is PCI). I had one (sold it though as I was parting out my machine) and it was great. Mostly used for gaming and music playback through studio monitors. Headset wise I'm using the Sennheiser PC330 and it's great, both in terms of sound and the mic over teamspeak / mumble / steam or on ARMA.
