I have just swapped my CPU cooler for a silver arrow, after managing to fit this monster in to my case. I could no longer fit my sound card in to any PCI express x1 slots, so I have fitted it in to a graphics card slot. I have heard this could slow down my graphics card, would it slow it down much?

Thanks Orcvader, that's good to know and I nearly put my sound card in that slot :D

Well it saves me having to sell it now, I was a little gutted after fitted the cooler. As I have only had the sound card 3 month and I am upgrading my graphics card soon to one of the new AMD cards and did not want it being restricted.

It's only the top blue and white PCIe x16 slot that shares bandwidth controlled via the CPU, if you place the soundcard into the bottom black PCIe x16 slot then it won't affect the GPU as that black slot and the x1 slots are controlled via the chipset.

would I have this problem if installing my soundcard in the very top slot the little pci slot above the main gfx card or the other spare GFX PCI-E slot,

as I've just ordered this motherboard and wanna install my asus pci-e sound card
and have it running fastest....by the looks of it I have only them 2 places to choose

No you won't have this problem if your using the small PCI express x1 slots :)

Your board has the small PCI express x1 slots in the same place as mine.
