right i am using my Asrock Dual Sata motherboards on board sound at the moment. but i do have a PCI Sound blaster Live 5.1 card in the drawer (about 4 years old) ish, I am using realtek at the moment (on motherboard)

Now if i put this card in, would i notice an increase in sound quality over my motherboard sound as just wondering as this card is 4 - 5 years old, it may be old technology of course, but you know how things move in the world.

Is it worth putting in ? or because of its age, it wont offer much improvement.
it says on it model SB0060. Would XP Pro with SP2 instatly install the right drivers or do i have to get them from somewhere ?

I have got the front breakout box for that card though coming this week from a member on here who has sold me it. It can always go in my older PC, just wanted it in here if it was worth it.

I shall of course be buying a X-Fi when funds allow though. This is just for the time being

Thank you

Depends really :)
It should take some load off your CPU when gaming, but I would say the sound quality would be about the same.
XP Pro should install the drivers with no fuss, but Windows Update might be needed. However, you would probably want to install the latest from Creative just to be on the safe side.

Much of a muchness though I would suspect ;)
