Hi All,

I want to buy a sound card for my new computer and I was hoping to get some recommendations. I'm also planing to use this sound card for a pair of Sennheiser HD595's or maybe HD650's.

For now I was thinking of an M-Audio Revolution 5.1 for the sound card.

Any comments/suggestions?

I'm going to use them for Music/Movies/Gaming.

The headphones will mostly be for music though. (I'm looking at the 595s much more seriously than the 650s to be honest.)

I've had the M-Audio Revolution soundcard for quite a while now, sound quality is amazing through my Cambridge Soundworks THX 2.1 speakers and my Grado Labs SR60 headphones.

Apparently they support EAX in games aswell, but haven't tested that out much. If it was just for music/dvds I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Not sure about the 5.1 but my Revolution 7.1 doesn't have any Vista drivers yet which will obviouly be a show-stopper if he runs it or plans to run it any time soon.

I've heard nothing but good things about Auzentech - maybe check them out?

Ah yes, didn't consider the OS, I'm still on XP Pro and will be until I get around to upgrading.

Personally I don't know anything about Auzentech so I may have a look at them if M-Audio haven't improved their driver support for Vista by the time I upgrade.
