Sound card recommendation

Hi i recently bought some new speakers the logitech z506 ones.

I am happy with the sound except for they don't seem to convert 2.1 to 5.1 very well at all i do ahve speakers on fill etc.

So i was wondering if a soundcard would help in making 2.1 into good 5.1 sound.

At the moment i am using m5a99x evo motherboard onboard sound

I hve the very same speakers myself , But I'm not really sure that it would make 2.1 into 5.1 ..im not that knowledgeable sorry

....but getting a sound card like a Xonar DG will make your speakers sound a lot better ....i have noticed though when playing a film on my pc....i do get sound out of All the speakers....but not so much with MP3's

also i have the very same mobo as yourself....and i plugged the the front panel sound header into the DG card

Hi same as me all work on folms but ot songs i heard that soundcards make the 2.1 convert into 5.1 but not too sure how true that is

ok well all i can say is that after fitting my Xonar DG the sound from my speakers and also my headphones was wayyy better
