Sound card recommendations

PC as is:

- Asus Z97-A mobo
- Intel Core i5-4670 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor
- Raijintek Themis Black Heatpipe CPU Cooler
- TeamGroup Elite Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
- Radeon Sapphire HD 7970 Vapor-X 3GB GDDR5 GPU
- SuperFlower Golden Green HX 650W "80 Plus Gold" PSU

My current sound card is a PCI Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 (I had a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty which failed a few months ago).

I'm kinda biased towards Creative (obviously) but I'll consider all opinions gratefully received...

Budget - under £100, but more than £17....

To record audio at a reasonably high quality from my turntable/hifi. And to do lots of sound-editing.

There is only the Sound Blaster Z in that price bracket and you may as well get the OEM version at £50 as you only really gain a pretty red casing and a beam forming microphone for the extra £25.

For £125 you could get the Asus Xonar Essence STX which is better specced throughout.

I would look at the M-Audio range of cards given what you will be using it for. Just a suggestion.
