Sound Card with built in Headphone Amp

Hi

At the moment I am using the onboard sound card to play my music through my headphones,but I find the volume won't go very loud,its okay but I want it much louder. Would I benefit for a sound card that has an in built Amp,I was thinking something like this

No question. That's why the card has one.

I do remember some guy some time ago bought a DG for this very reason, and he found the sound card wasn't as loud as his onboard audio. There must have been a problem somewhere. I've used a DG with the amp on max setting, and it's considerably louder than any onboard audio solution.

Sounds good,thanks for that. Do you think its worth paying a bit more and getting this card as its only a few quid more. I will only be using the card with headphones

Same card, just the PCIe version.

Just got the Asus Xonar DG card today from OCUK and now have it fitted. I must say its so much better than the on-board sound card. Well happy with it and it only cost about £23

Now if i could only sort out my new headphones this easy
