sound crackling and popping

Hmm the problem just started happening, at 1st i thought it would be my headphones so i swapped the medusa 5.1 amp for another 1 that cleared it up for a few days however its back and real dam annoying, so ive tried various things inside the Game console for the creative sound card, but no luck so i decided to change it from Game to Entertainment and that got rid of the crackling and popping but it doesnt sound good while playing games, anyone have an ideas what it could be?

I had crackle with my x-fi on my new build, was down to me be lazy and just using the microsoft update drivers for the card.
Installed from the creative disc and sounds perfect now.

After an extensive search o found a solution that seemed to work, i loaded up the windows sound thingy when to line-in2/Mic2 and muted it, seemed to work fine.
