Simple question... if anyone mentions adding sound deadening material to their case they tend to get criticised. But if a case manufacturer adds it as a feature then it seems fine.

Why :confused::D

because purchasers think that case manufactures know what they're doing, so they dont question what they see in the photos:p

this sound deadening material doesn't work, i've used it....it's too thin.. noise unfortunately escapes via the intake and exhaust fans.

it's not easy to kill noise..........especially the graphics card

A quiet pc is easy - and graphic card can be passively aircooled or watercooled.
It just take a bit of thought, research and 10% extra on you build cost

Back to the question - most people use PlaxMate - and you should be criticised for wasting your money on it.
The good sound insulator make a differance but stuff like PlaxMate is nearpointless.

Kill noise at the source but using quiet hardware, then isolate the hardware then use baffles to remove direct sound paths THEN use AcoustiPack EXTRA.

It mops up that last bits of high and low level noise.
The other 3 actions will drop your sound level more.
