sound dims when plugging second display in

As title says I'm listening to music or watching video streaming and when I want to use my second monitor I plug the vga cable in, since I take it out to save power (gpu runs hot having 2 plugged in) and when the second display comes on the sound drops by about 80% and I have to turn the volume to max to hear any sound from video streams.

Anyone know how to fix this?

control panel >> sound >> communications.

if 'reduce the volume of other sounds by 80%' is ticked, try changing it to 'do nothing'.

awesome. I've actually broken the vga pins on the card removing it so many times (temps on card stay around 60c when its left in) so always removed it, now I just have a cool hot key command
