Hope someone can help me with this. I just installed the latest x-fi drivers on a fresh install of xp and now in game mode I don't get any sound from my rear speakers. When I switch to entertainment mode I get sound from all my speakers. I have a 4.1 setup and have checked that this is selected in both the creative audio console and the windows control panel.

Is this a problem with the new drivers? Has anyone else got this problem or knows how to fix it?

Cheers.

Well, my first thought is if you're not using programs that actually play sound through all channels, might you have CMSS-3D set to on in Entertainment, whilst it's set to off by default in game mode?

Edit: I guess the thing you should check is if you can get sound from the rear speakers by using one of the various "makes a test sound come from each speaker" programs.

I tried one of the programs and am only getting sound from the front. If I put CMSS-3D on I can get sound on all speakers but all its doing is replicating the stereo coming in. I have always had true 4.1 surround sound before I installed this new driver.
