Sound from my BenQ monitor not working

the monitor model is in the sig below, basically my mointor speakers arent emitting any sound, i have nvidia audio driver installed i check devices and under sound it shows my benq monitor. my benq24 is default playback device. (hdmi connection)

so why isnt it working, id greatly appreciate any help this is starting to bug me :/

A quick Google seems to point to the XL2420T not having speakers.

^^This. Just had a look through the specs on BenQ and there is no mention of built in speakers.

Probably not worth using most monitor speakers anyway, any particular reason you're not wanting to get a set of speakers?
