Sound from pc to pioneer vsx d2011 amp

I'm connecting my pc to my Samsung Milano 2 LCD tv in the living room as a 2nd display. I have a Pioneer vsx d2011 amp and want to connect in 5.1 to it also in the living room. My pc is next door in the dining room so whats the best way to connect to the amp? I have noticed that there is a usb input on the back of the amp so can i use this? if so how and will it be in 5.1? If not, optical will be ok yeah?

Yes, don't put any sharp bends in it and the less bends the better. Don't squash/crush it either!
