right now im using the p5b deluxe onboard sound, crappy argos headset that i had to use after breaking the wireless headphones someone bought me, and some generic flat panel speakers that i got out some random pc vendor shop

right now if im playing supreme commander or watching a movie etc on the computer i dont have an issue with the sound, but i also dont have any experience of what a good sound system is like. Would it be worth investing some money?

Im thinking a pci sound card, speakers, and some 1/2 decent gamer headset. I dont really value sound as a big priority in computers but my main question is if you dont spend much will there be any noticable difference between what i buy and what im using just now?

I dont usually care about the quality of the sound coming from my system either ,but I did pick up a pair for zalman medusa 5.1 headset for when I dont want to disturb people sleeping next to me and I can instantly tell the difference in quality between the zalman and some generic £5 headset.

Whether its worth the money is your own choice.

Moving from on-board, i was sceptical at first, then i got an audigy 2, my view changed drastically.

Heck an x-fi has a massive improvement over the audigy 2 xs plat pro i last had.

A decent set of speakers/headphones and a decent soundcard does wonders for games/music/films.

Pick yourself up an xtreme gamer or xtreme music x-fi card and you will be blown away by everything (trusting you had good speakers/phones to boot)
