Sound in vista

I have 5.1 speakers and a creative sound card but when I put the sound setting on to 5.1 I lose sound all together

Any ideas?

Which card? I know it works fine in 5.1 on audigy 2 zs and xfi gamer. Have you tried the latest beta drivers?

Tbh creative have been extreme poor with Vista support, and thats with cards a lot newer than SB live. Wouldn't be supprised if they dont support your card anymore

Creative abandon support for their products when they are more than an hour old. I initially installed Vista with my SB Live card and got it working using the following:

I seem to recall Windows Update then finding a driver even though there wasn't supposed to be one! I eventually removed my card and relied on the on-board sound and am perfectly happy with that. I am reluctant to line any more of Creative's greedy pockets.
