Quite a strange one, may actually be more common than I think but my headphones connected to the back of my case directly in the motherboards sound card I get no sound interference at all, however connected to the side panel on my case I get a faint buzzing/hum sound? What’s causing this? I really need to use my side panel rather than messing about behind my case every time I need to get my headphone out,

The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R, which uses Realtek ALC889A audio.

Any info would be great :)

Tonight for the 1st time i started to get the same sort of interference , and the cause for me was i started to use one of them cable tidy's , but obviously the headphones are now getting interference from being so close to the power cable's , su just make sure that when you are using the side connections, that your headphones lead is not near any other electrical leads.

And if the interference is getting into that port from inside the machine, get a little extension lead, and run them from the "good" socket.
