Sound is out 0.8s

I have a full series, about 24 episodes of a programme and every episode is 0.8s out on the sound. I am watching it using VLC as the sound can be corrected. However is there any program I can use which will encode the sound correctly for me without losing any audio/visual quality. They are just standard avi's, nothing fancy.

There is a free app. that can load a video source and which you can then link an external audio file to, and re-encode over the top. I used to use it when I had videos with poor sound. I'd open the file in something like Goldwave, edit the audio so it sounded clearer, then open the video in this app and add the new audio into it.

But for the life of me, I can't remember what it's called!!!!

VirtualDub will do this but how easy it will be depends on the type of audio in the videos.

Yep, can be done through the interleaving audio options in VirtualDub - "Delay audio track by".
