i had to re format my hard drive totally and i put xp home edition on it, tried to download and install realtek HD audio onto it as i had it on ym lap top and it worked fine but i get the " microsoft bus driver need to be installed first" message, how do i get around this as the fixes ive read about dont seem to work :D

Does the system your installing the drivers onto have a Realtek sound card? Did you get the full driver directly from Realtek as that has the Microsoft UAA driver incorporated.

no i didnt, didnt even think of that to be honest, im tying to get it from the HP website cus its a HP dx 2200 what i have, my dad got it for nothing so i thought id have a mess around with it and see what sort of monster i can turn it into, at the moment it doesnt even roar.

Had a similiar problem with a laptop recently

Check your system devices for Realtek device present. Then download the latest driver straight from Realtek site.
