Hi,

I am trying to lower the noise levels of my pc and was wondering what would be the most effective way of doing this. Does the sound insulation foam actually work?? I'm also trying to find the source of the annoying fan hum. I have a Gigabyte rocket cooler and a X1800XT with stock fan. My idea was to swap the CPU and GPU fans for some nice Zalman ones. Not sure if this will make a difference though.

I hope this is in the correct forum if not i will happily move it. Oh one last thing, do you think the airflow could be creating the noise, my cable management isnt the best.

Many Thanks

Mike

I currently have the following system.

Akasa Eclipse 62 with 2x Akasa Amber 120mm fans
ASUS A8N-E with a 3700+ 64
X1800-XT
Fatality XFI Soundcard
2gb of Ballistix
2x Maxtor drives.

Any advice on coolers?? I was thinking Zalman, this the right direction??? I was looking at around £60 to silence the PC.

Oh forgot to mention i have a tagan easycon psu but i doudt that is making a lot of noise.

cheers

mike

my x1800xt with stock is at about 50 ish, but when i play bf2 maxed out it sounds like i'm next to an airport as the fan revs up lol.

i've got enough space for the watercooling unit but might go with zalman still. Are there any fanless options available??
