Well it was working but after shutting down and starting it up again I can see the hdmi device and windows suggests sound is going to it but I am not receiving any sound. Any ideas what it could be a bit of fiddling turning off onboard sound and I am not closer to a solution.

1. not using an adapters are we?
2. had the same problem on my partners GTX650 when we hooked it up to the TV... I had to reinstall the latest drivers to get it to work
