Sound not working

hey, just built a new rig and everything is running fine apart from the sound. its 3D sub woofer and 2 smaller speakers and there is just no sound coming from them, although my computer says there should be, does anyone have any ideas?

went on the control panel to see if i was doing anything wrong, it detects that both my mic and my hd output device yet there is no sounds going out or in from them.

my mic is now working but still no sound coming out, i have it plugged into the green socket at the back of my comp. is that right?

i tryed earphones and they are not working either
