sound on pc

hi when i play music from hard drive it sounds like its very crackly and dragging. its not the speakers. it was fine before. any ideas guys. maybe defrag ??????

It's mose likely to be sound problem, not hard drive...

Maybe a problem with your media player - try the speakers on another PC. Could also be a sound card problem I guess, maybe try reinstalling the drivers for it. Try giving the speaker cables a bit of a wobble too, they might be cracked inside..

Is it all sound or just music?

The first thing on my check list would be to make sure the speaker audio jack is pushed firmly into the sound card and the amp/sub/speaker at the other end.

it actually sounds like the hard drive becos the sound is very slow out of sync like its dragging

ok guys if i play a movie its ok ...if i put a music cd in pc it plays ok.. its just when i play my mp3s they sound draggy. tried wmp and winamp same on both any ideas guys.. thanks
