Hey guys wonder if you could help me i have my current build which is in my sig, When i plug my headphones into the front panel speaker jack or the back panel i only get audio out of 1 speaker i have tried uninstalling the driver with no luck and also tried different head phones and i get the same problem could it be a problem with the motherboard

Crossed my mind that it could be a faulty socket, but if you're getting it with the front audio as well, it must be something else.

What about trying other outputs? If you set the output to 5.1 and check the 'speaker fill' box in the Realtek options, then connect the headphones to the rears socket, do you still only get one channel playing audio?

yeah it happens with all sockets i also tried removing my amd drivers just incase the audio driver was conflicting but that still didnt work i am starting to push towards the audio board being damaged

It does seem likely that there is a fault with the audio. I think it's unlikely that if it were a software issue that only one channel would be affected, and to be the same channel from each output.

Was it working fine up to recently, or is this a new motherboard?

yeah it was working great until about 2 weeks ago i got the board from ocuk but it has been over a year so i think i have to go through asus either that or do you think it might be easier to just buy a sound card instead

Could be the actual headphones. Have you tried plugging them into something else? Try them with your TV or an MP3 player.
This.

If it work fine other devices and confirming it's a onboard sound issue, then you might need to get a cheapo sound card.

The Asus U1 USB external soundcard is only £9.99 at the moment at one of the high street shops.
