Sound pass-through not working

I have my Xbox 360 audio out hooked up to my mac audio in so I can hear the console through the attached speakers. I know the signal is getting to the mac as I can see the sound inbut meter move about...however, I can't hear anything coming out of the speakers (even though all other sound coming from the mac worksfine). Anybody know what the deal is here?

Yeah, Mac's don't support that. You'll need to route the line in straight to the speakers using something like LineIn:

Really? I'm pretty sure I had it working before. I may have been imagining it though
