Sound problem please help?

Hi Everyone

I have just built a new rig and canot get the soung to work
heres the spec nothing special but all i can afford :-

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ venice @2.58
Asus A8N-E
1gb Crucial Balistix pc3200
Nvidea 6600GT
Thermaltake Silent Power 430watt psu


Ok I have installed the drivers but it still dosont work I have checked that it is enabled in the BIOS as it it onboard and it still says that there is no device conected when I connected it to the green port and I tried all the other ones anyway but nothing works.

If anyone can help with this please do so
any help will be greatly apretiated!!!

I don't quite understand your first post. But is the onboard detected within Device manager..

Hi Thank you very much for replying but no thats the problem its not detected in the device manager.

Any ideas
