Sound Problem

Yesterday I noticed that the volume on my speakers goes up and down on its own.

It happened when I was playing games yesterday and when im playing music (mp3) its fluctuating (sp) everywhere.

I havn't changed any settings which could cause the speakers to automatically change volume.

I have an audigy 2 sound card with a creative 5.1 speaker set. (Sound card is about 12 - 18 months old, speakers are about 5 years old)

Would could be the cause?

Its the remote control mate, you know the volume dial.

I had the same issue with my creative 6.1 set. Creative sent me a new remote/volume thing and itsa ok now

If I unplug the volume control will that surfice as a test?

I cant coz it thinks it turned off then!

Do you have any headphones that you can plug directly into your soundcard and see if that helps
