I'm going absolutely crazy here people. So hopefully someone can help.

I have a HP ZE4400, I installed Vista Ultimate over my previous XP Pro installation.

The sound drivers have gone, and no matter what I try, I can't get the sound going.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks

Phil

Hey RLBUHT, type in "Device Manger" into the start menu search bar and hit enter. Once the "Device Manger" window appears, navigate down to "Sound, video and game controllers", expand it and then right click on the expanded option (For example mine would be "High Definition Audio Device") and select "Update Driver Software.

Once the next window appears, select the top option, "Search automatically for updated driver software". Hopefully this should find and install the latest software for your device. :)

Thanks for your reply Fire Wizard. One thing though, if the drivers are no longer there, were would I get them? The ones on the HP website don't seem to be any good. I install them and the sound still doesn't work.

Hey RLBUHT, that method searches the internet for the appropriate driver. I am not quite sure why the manufacturers driver that you have download from the manufacturer website (HP) aren't working, they should be.

Maybe give it another go. :)

I had similar issues with a Logitech Webcam, it turned out that the drivers I was downloading was for a newer version.
