Hi, does anyone know of a program that I can ... program to start recording at xx time and stop recording at xx time, recording from an audio input on my sound card.

Just so I can start a recording at 10am - 1pm while I'm at work.

Running Vista 64,

Anyone know of a program?

Thanksie! =]

That much audio will want to be recorded streamed in to mp3, the wav file would be huuuge! :)

There are a few free apps although I don't know much about most. I downloaded Audacity the other day it's pretty good. Download it and have a look to see if it will do what you want.

Thanks mate, i'll try that program out soon!

Still searching my house for a cable that's essential. I realy hate that lol, out of all the cables you need the one you want you can't find!

use audacity, cracking tool

space needed it roughly 8.5 to 9 mb per minute of recording (as wav), you can save it as mp3 afterwards (need to download the 'lame' plugin for it, its on the download page)

use the latest beta release

Going to try the ^ that recomended program now, then the other's if it fails me.

To get it to start at a specific time, could you not put an entry in Scheduled Tasks if necessary? :)

I thought about that, but wouldn't the application just open at the specified time? I'd have to click within the program to start a recording. I'll try a few things out now

Testing a bit of recording out now on audacity, it doesn't have a schedule for start / stop recording. Trying to think of a way to do this..

I could just wake up, hit record and come home to a filled hard disk, then cut out what I don't need, I think?

How does this work, if you record for an hour non-stop were is that data stored? Surley it doesn't write it to disk while it's recording.. oh wait, think I just seen my free space drop?

I'll leave it recording for 30 mins and see whats what.

If above programs don't do it for you, have a look at Easy Hi-Q Recorder, Online Radio Tuner, Replay Radio, WavPad in the Audio Tools (CD Ripping/Recording/Editing etc) section.

Nice to see you are still pimping your Utils thread jbloggs. ;)

I've had a look at Easy Hi-Q Recorder and it can be set to run automatically for scheduled recordings.

Great i'll try Hi-Q!

It costs me 200MB every 10minutes @ 128bit 44100Hz, havn't saved anything yet, that's just while recording.

p.s. I hate DAB radios, constant interference! arg, 10x better my a..

Is that in wav format? If you want to keep the file you can use Audacity and Lame to convert to MP3.

Have to admit, never looked upon myself as a pimp!

But hey....it seems to be working in bringing it to the attention of the forum members. ;)
