anyone have any advice to offer for a very simple solution?

i thought an m-box 2 mini with pro-tools was a good looking option...any thoughts or alternatives? i wana record guitar/bass/keyboard....maybe vocals someday!

thanks!

M-audio preamp USB is very good i use it for all my recording. i use to record over heads for my kits and bassically everything else. Will be stepping up to 4 channels soon two channel arent that good for drum kits as you can iamgne.

I would use something better than pro tools, it has'nt got the best bit rate when coming to recording. I would go with something like Cubase or Logic if your a mac user

Eh?!?

All Pro Tools hardware supports 24-bit recording, which is far superior to 16-bit. Not to mention the interface and software is the industry standard and has been for many years, and natively supports both Windows and OSX platforms.

I wouldn't go for the Mbox 2 Mini or Mbox 2 though, as they are USB1.1 connections. The Mbox 2 Pro is the only one of the range that i would consider getting, or the 003 series.

What is your budget?

im really wanting to spend less than £200 if poss, thats why i thought the Mbox looked like a good solution, im doing this on top of a new build PC so thats why its a small budget!

whats the big difference between mbox 2 mini and pro? i know its got a load more imputs but i don't really need them, is it the connection to the PC that's the important bit?
