Sound through both spdif and speakers on Vista

How do you do this? I wouldn't mind half as much if it was simple to switch but it took me half an hour repeatedly setting default device, opening closing iTunes/Foobar. All it ended up with was no sound output. Left it 30s and tried again and it works through optical (Which is what I wanted half an hour ago... :/ )

So is there a easy switcher that works or something to allow me to use both simultaneously?

The older AC97 driver from Realtek allowed simultainious s/pdif and analogue output. I think the driver was 6241, but this is on Vista. You didnt list your specs so its hard to say if this is relvant.
