Hi all,

I have a 5570 and Zotac h55.

I have connected the HDMI cable to the gpu and get a pic but no sound!

I have downloaded the CCC but cant see option to select sound?

Also downloaded Realtek drivers but know joy...

Please help, im sure its something simple but my head is about to explode...

This is my first HTPC build and im being thwarted by a sound issue :(

You need to change the default sound card to HDMI in windows properties, if on windows 7 or vista you will see the mistake easily once you get into sound properties.

do you have the hdmi cable plugged in and the screen with the other end of the hdmi turned on with a picture displayed?

Yes...just no sound.

Been doing some more fiddling and windows has just given me the option to pipe the sound through the optical on the zotac but why wont it let me just do it over hdmi via the 5570???

I am not familiar with the 5570, but I know some HDMI graphics cards require you to plug your card into your sound card or motherboard for sound (including mine). This is normally done via an extra cable that may or may not be included. In my case it isn't and the plug is in the form of a small 2-pin socket on the side of my card.

I would recommend referring to your graphics card/ motherboard manual (I know :O) to find information. I may be wrong but it is the case with my card.

No need in this case, that only applies to older Nvidia cards.

OP, both ATI's and Realtek drivers have the HDMI audio driver.

In device manager it may look like this:
