Sound Vibration Insulation

I have surround sound in my bedroom, the problem is that as soon as any real bass exits the sub, the entire house can hear it.

At the moment the sub sits on my desk but i am about to make a shelf to mount it on the side of my desk for a bit more space, the query is; can i do anything in mounting the shelf or sub to reduce the vibration travelling from the sub through the desk...floor...house etc?

Some sort a material maybe. I was looking at like a kind of rockwool sound insulation but the main problem here is vibration rather than actual volume as it's bass.

Cheers

Move the sub away from walls if possible. Place the sub on isolation material (rockwool like you mentioned is good, or thick studio foam). Alternatively, try spikes, these reduce the contact area but are best suited for carpet (could damage the shelf). Quite a common problem with computer subs it seems. I have Hi-Fi speakers on stands and with all the isolation it provides vibrational energy is not a problem (perhaps you could by a speaker stand to place the sub on rather than the shelf? You'll have one spare though :) )
